The MacBook Air M3 comes in the same four colours as the previous M2 models, Midnight, Starlight, Space Grey and Silver. The M3 model introduced a new anodisation seal on the Midnight finish to reduce fingerprints.
What is the difference between the M2 and M3 MacBook Air?
CPU - both the M2 and M3 chips found in the MacBook Air are 8-core, the newer technology in the M3 chip means that it benchmarks approximately 20% higher.
GPU - both the M2 and M3 chips can be configured with an 8-core or 10-core GPU and they are very similar in performance.
WiFi - the M2 MacBook Air has WiFi 6 whereas the M3 MacBook Air has newer WiFi 6E technology for improved performance.
External Displays - MacBook Air M2 supports a single external display with up to 6K resolution, the MacBook Air M3 also supports a single external display with up to 6K resolution but if closing the lid you can connect a second display with up to 5K resolution.
Microphones - The M3 MacBook Air has improved microphones with added features such as Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum.
